Missile Launching Train

The old Warsaw Railway Station in St Petersburg has been renovated and has now been transformed to a shopping centre called Warshawsky Express. Behind this centre is the St Petersburgh ‘Central Train Museum.

Naturally, this has an amazing collection of Soviet locomotives which were all repainted in 2007 which was the 150th anniversary of railways in Russia.

A missile launching train is one of the more ‘rare’ locomotives to see. Many trains still sport logos of Lenin, and Stalin. One train also touts that catch phrase to destruction, "Go forward with Communism."

For related exhibitions visit the main St Petersburg railway museum at 50 Sadovaya Street for more history and exhibits.
