Irkutsk Lake Baikal and Cross-country SKIING in Siberia forest
2 Days / 1 Night
Or more

From mid November till mid March.

This two day/one night ski tour is for the person who would like to immerse themselves in the breath-taking nature of the deep Siberian forest during winter, to experience the lifestyle of a small, remote Russian, village and delve deep into a little known region by doing what you love - skiing.

The small village “Trudniy” is comprised of 30 houses and situated on the edge of an immense forest. One and a half hours by local train from Irkutsk the area has several nice ski areas which will quickly give you the classic snow covered pine forest one has see in many images.

Attempting to recognise the different animal foot/paw prints you will encounter in the wilderness and returning for the night in a private hunter’s hut are other highlights.

First thing on the morning of the day you have set for this excursion you will transferred to the railway station for the local train to Trudny, about one and a half hours. Accommodation will be in the a log cabin built from Larch wood. This 'hunters cabin of about 4x5 m consists of one room with a traditional stove and a Wooden Russian sauna. Your Guide will sleep in a nearby hut. After arrival Lunch will be provided and you then start your afternoon skiing. You can choose your distance (from 3 to 40 km) and the level of the piste. In the evening you can avail yourself of the sauna along with dinner. Next morning there is an opportunity for more skiing, or hiking around before the afternoon departure back to Irkutsk - 4pm or 7pm.
We provide a guide, skis and outfit, full board, all transfers and Russian sauna.
You can extend this excursion for another night.
