Meet the Staff

The people behind decades of expertise in travel across Russia, China and Mongolia.

Based in Australia, Russian TravelCentre has been arranging travel to, from and across Russia since 1989. Our team combines personal experience with long-standing local contacts to design rail journeys, guided tours and independent itineraries.

Russian TravelCentre has spent decades building a deep familiarity with journeys across Eurasia, pairing long-held expertise with a genuinely personal approach. The focus is on travel that moves thoughtfully between cultures and landscapes, from historic rail corridors to lesser-known regional routes. Travellers are guided through options that balance iconic highlights with quieter discoveries, shaped by people who have spent years exploring the region rather than simply researching it from afar.

A particular strength lies in the railway journeys that define so much of the region's romance, including the celebrated Trans-Siberian and Trans-Mongolian routes. These are presented not as simple point-to-point trips but as layered experiences, where overnight stops, side excursions and changing scenery become part of the wider narrative. Comfort, pacing and atmosphere are considered alongside logistics, allowing each itinerary to feel considered rather than packaged.

Beyond the railways, the team designs independent and guided itineraries that weave together city stays, regional sightseeing and overland travel. Interests as varied as architecture, local culture, winter landscapes and remote natural settings can be accommodated, with suggestions that reflect the character of each destination. Visas, seasons and practicalities are discussed openly, helping travellers make informed choices about timing, route and pace.

Drawing on long-standing local contacts in Russia, China, Mongolia and Central Asia, the consultancy offers a grounded perspective that comes from years of working in the region. Each enquiry is treated as a conversation rather than a transaction, with recommendations shaped around individual travellers rather than fixed templates. The result is a service that feels attentive, informed and quietly confident in the destinations it covers.
